MAGGIE THE CYNICAL

Maggie was at a stage where she got very cynical towards everything at the design showcase, she didn't have much interest in architecture or even fashion design.. so she started picking all those things apart, analysing what she didn't like about it and what she thought was okay? In the process she trained her brain to have more of a critical thinking mindset, whilst increasing her awareness to tiny irritations. It was a great day for cynics around the world.

WHAT'S THE POINT??

Don't despair! It may seem to the average graphic design student that there isn't much on the topic of graphic design at the design expo. All the other design faculties seem to dominate, but there are parts where there is some sweeet design, especially at the emerging creative section. Designers fresh from college, with the same goals and interests as what you have!! They should inspire a person to strive to their excellence, and get that creative mind stirring!

FRIDGE?WHAT THE??

What's the deal with the fridges?? Well, the fridges were appliances that were placed around the Design Indaba Expo, i used them as markers, solid points so i didn't get lost too much while traveling through the indaba :) That's also why the fridges are used to number the 12(for now) collectable flyer pieces. It was a tiny detail that added to the character of the expo..a bit random? Maybe? It's up to you to decide!

SIMON THE JUNKIE

Simon was soooo excited to be at the indaba! He was after all a design junkie.. he spoke to everyone who's designs he was even slightly interested in, and became well informed with the workings of  high concepts and the work behind the designs! His knowledge grew quickly, and this made him keen to go and make his own designs, with new knowledge on how to do things creatively :) It's good to be an addict :)

JENNIFER VENTURING FORTH

Jennifer keeps her eyes sharp, in case a nice design catches her eyes. She slowly strolls through the horde of creative hooligans in her path.. it's hard to concentrate on  a piece of design for too long,other determining factors come into play! People are irritating. Her view is blocked. The designs aren't really what she's interested in. There's no sufficient information to give her any insight into how the design originated, but Jennifer stays headstrong,after all, she just entered the Design Expo.. Trained to never give up, she fought through all these irritating factors! What brilliant commitment to design?!

MATTHEW WANTS TO DESIGN SOMETHING

It would seem Matthew isn't happy, because he has a creative block, so how can Matthew solve this slight problem?Easy, Matthew just has to go to the Design Indaba!! After all, a creative can't work in an isolated area ;)
